The Big News

Well the day we have been waiting for has finally arrived! Match day was a great success for us. Mike matched into his first pick. Mike will start working as a resident in Pathology at UCSF in July! We both love San Fran and feel very excited. Mike hopes he can fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a surf bum, and I hope we can afford rent! We are sure we have a lot of great adventures ahead of us.

Mike and I both feel that "the match" closed the door on our great years in New Orleans. We thought we would most likely be heading back to New Orleans. We will miss our great friends and good times in "The Big Easy." We are planning to make the most of our last 3 months in Burlington. It will be hard to leave!

Congrats guys, we were wondering about you guys this weekend. Pathology, huh? Mike will be very good at that-- I think it suits him. . . .he always felt at home in the lab.

Holy cow, you guys will have lived coast to coast and a few places in between. Fun! I am SUPER excited to visit you in San Fran. I'll make Ali come with me and we'll have a great old time. P.S. Yes, I blog stalk. No I don't have one of my own. Yes, I love seeing pictures of Gretchen and you two. No, I'm not the best at keeping in touch. But hopefully I'll be better since you'll be so close.

Hi Kristen. I hope you don't mind, but I followed the link to your blog from Lisa's. I'm an old friend of the Lindseys from their days in San Jose. I haven't met you yet, but would love to. Your blog is really cute. I still live in San Jose and have two little ones. My son is just a couple months older than Gretchen. I'd love to help you get acquainted with some of the fun stuff to do with little ones in the bay area. I think you'll be feeling withdrawl after your huge place in Vermont. You certainly won't get a place like that out here! However, the weather here is significantly nicer.

Lisa was planning on staying with me when she comes out in August for my sister's wedding, but I guess if you guys are out here she might want to stay with you. That is, if you've found a place by then. Anyhow, if you'd like to hook up when you get out here, let me know. My email address is GoggyFife@aol.com.

Small world! I just clicked on your link from Ariane & Justin Smith's blog. (Ariane is my husband's cousin.) Anyway, I was in Mike's ward back in Vegas during high school. Congrats on matching to San Fran. We just moved from there almost a year ago and haven't stopped missing it since! --Katie (McDonald)Bybee
